A colourful Japanese mustard green with large, rounded leaves edged and flushed purple. The leaves have a mild mustard-spinach character and are useful raw in salads or cooked in stir-fries; the flowering stems and flowers are also edible.

Growing notes: Mustard greens are quick-growing cool-season vegetables that tolerate light frost. Cooking softens their characteristic mustard heat.

Sowing guide: Plant 35–60cm apart, rows 50–75cm apart, sow 0.5–1cm deep. Best soil temperature 10–35°C.
