A Japanese heirloom bunching onion with striking deep red stems to around 20cm and tall green leaves. Sweet and mild for raw or cooked use.
Packet: 100 seeds.
Sowing guide: Plant 5–10cm apart, rows 30–40cm apart, sow 0.5–1cm deep. Best soil temperature 8–30°C.
When to plant: Tropics Mar–Jun; Subtropics Feb–Jul; Mild Feb–Aug; Cold/Frost Feb–Sep.
