An early, short-day Texas heirloom suited to warmer climates, producing large pale-yellow bulbs with mild, sweet and crisp white flesh. Best used fresh rather than for very long storage.
Packet: 100 seeds.
Sowing guide: Plant 5–10cm apart, rows 30–40cm apart, sow 0.5–1cm deep. Best soil temperature 8–30°C.
When to plant: Tropics Mar–Jun; Subtropics Feb–Jul; Mild Feb–Aug; Cold/Frost Feb–Sep.
