An indeterminate heirloom paste tomato with red, heart-shaped fruit and solid, tasty flesh suited to sauces, bottling, drying and stews. Eden Seeds lists it as an Amish-origin variety dating to around 1880.

Growing guide: Tomatoes prefer an open, sunny position in well-drained soil with good organic matter. Avoid waterlogging and overhead watering where possible. In cooler districts, sow indoors about 5 weeks before transplanting or sow after the last frost.

Sowing guide: Plant 40–60cm apart with 60–150cm between rows. Sow about 0.5cm deep. Best soil temperature 16–35°C.
